Just for fun

My boss asked us to pick the best ten things that someone has said to us this season. i thought some of you might enjoy it as well. So in no particular order, here they are:

  • Hey she fixed my wedgie
  • Its the playoffs, don't call that
  • HE'S TOUCHING ME!!
  • His pants came down, isn't that a penalty?
  • Hey, can you tell them to stop throwing my flag on the ground?
  • After a girl's team punts: Kicking team: what happens when i touch it? Receiving team: i don't know, can i touch it? Kicking team: you pick it up and i'll pull your flag. Receiving team: deal.
  • He he's wearing a white shirt too. Make him put on a different shirt.
  • How come every time i hit him you call a foul on me?
  • A gril asked me: if we decline the penalty can we get the ball? I answered: The penalty is on you. So no, you can't decline.
  • I asked: Do you want offense, defense or differ. She asked: What does offense mean?

hoped you enjoyed them ;)

New experience

Well, i have to say that things turned out pretty well. Granted, being a waiter payed really well but i was tired of it. So when i came here, to Provo, i vowed not to work in the food industry. I was scared that it wouldn't work out but i stayed the course. And i hit the jack pot!!

I love being a ref! i don't have any pictures of me working because, well, why would i?

This is me in my jacket. the jacket is amazing! and this picture doesn't due it justice.

this is my shirt. i like it too. i also got a yellow flag, ball marker, and two whistles, which i get to keep ;) ( i know it is a little nerdy, but so am it).

To give you a taste of why i love it, i was reffing girls flag football. girl on team A was running with the ball. Girl on team B reaches for her flag and pulls, getting a little bit of Team A girl's shorts. Team A girl stands up and says, "OOOO, she fixed my wedgie". i laughed my head off.

anyway, i am having a blast. go me!!!

about every 15 years or so

So it has been a long time since i have blogged. i am sorry for that but the main reason is i don't take my camera to most places. here are some of the few pics i have managed to take

this is the view from my apartment. it is much better during sunset but it doesn't show up on the picture.

this is the view from the "Y". it is a steep hike, but fun.
this is the Manti temple:) i agree with Damon, the inside is the most beautiful i have seen. it feels very very homey

Now for the news :) i don't know if you remember about 15 years ago i won that thing from the dentist. it was the nativity thing that turned around when you light the candles. well, it has been 15 years and i haven't won anything since then.
But not any more. there was a carnival during the fourth of July called freedom days. there was a guy there that had a clip board. he told me if i wrote down my name and number and i might win an Wii.
then i got a call this morning saying i beat out a few thousand people and won!!!!!!! i actually won something again. check it out.

we had an extra tv in the apartment. so i set them up side by side. so i can play and watch tv. it is sweet. i got a num chuck and Wii sports. not bad for taking ten seconds to write my name and number down.

but now it means i have to wait another fifteen years to get something else. but it seems it is getting better and better, so maybe i'll win a car or something ;)

about time i guess

Well, I've been here for a couple of weeks now so i guess it is about time i post some pics of the new place.

above is the living room. not that big, yes, but the couches are really comfortable. and at the moment, it just being me in the apartment, plenty of space. we'll see how it works when there are six of us.
this is my room. on the other side is another bed but i couldn't get an angle where it showed all of it. i like it enough, but I'm only in there when i sleep. that will also probably change when i get roommates.

this is the kitchen. better than my last one for sure. it has a dish washer and a disposal. i love the disposal!!!!!! it also has more counter space then my last place which makes things easier :)

now for a shout out for my wonderful sister in law. Liz took me shopping for new close before she and G left for Ohio. these shoes are just one of the many things she picked out for me. these shoes alone have gotten over ten compliments. everyday i am hearing things like "great shoes" or "i love that shirt". and i tell them all. "thank my sister in law, she picked them out for me". so i just like to give credit to the one that deserves it. Thanks Liz :)

a proper send off for an OLD "friend"

Well, i have told some if not all of you what i was planning on doing, but i did it. it was an amazing time. we took the old couch up to the mountains and burned it :) so here are the pictures from this great send off.

we set it up. on top is my uniform from chili's. (it was my last day today). on the bottom left are my shoes from work. and stuffed in the cushions are papers from school.

the moment of truth. Dan and i both lit one spot. we had to take this picture fast because it caught on fire fast :)

i ran away fight after this one.

and now what was left.

what was once a couch that supported us for years is now a pile of ash. it was old (older than me i think) and it was long past it's time. but i am very grateful it gave me one more night of fun. i had a blast

A Bummer but not a big deal

Well, i got news from the MTC and i will not be working there. I was partially recommended both times and that didn't do it. apparently there are two departments, one that does the hiring and the other that does the evals. the one that does the evals has no idea what positions need filled. either way, they said i was good just not what they were looking for.

I am disappointed but not crushed. i am not worried about finding a job somewhere else. it is summer and a lot of people go home.

I ask only one thing. please don't call or write any sympathetic messages. no, "it's their loss", or, "I'm sorry", or, anything like that. it is nothing personal i just hate things like that. it doesn't help and i just think it is annoying. sorry :)
